About Scout

The story behind
the app.

After losing our 9-year-old German Shepherd, Scout, to cancer in December 2025, I found myself digging through nearly a decade of photos, trying to piece together a highlight reel of his life. What should have been a simple, meaningful process quickly became overwhelming. The memories were there — but scattered, unorganized, and harder to revisit than they should have been.

That experience revealed a gap: there wasn't a single, dedicated place to preserve the best moments of a pet's life — something intentionally built for reflection when it matters most.

At the same time, another need became clear. Life had gotten busy, especially when our own little one joined the family pack, and we realized how easy it is to miss capturing everyday moments of our pets. My husband said he wished he'd taken more photos in Scout's later years. That sentiment stuck — because it's one many pet owners share, often too late.

"Scout is more than a tool — it's a way to be more present now, and more prepared later."

Scout was built to solve both problems. It helps pet owners capture and organize meaningful moments as they happen — so nothing important gets lost over time. It creates a centralized space to manage a pet's life, from daily care to long-term wellbeing. And when the time comes, it offers a thoughtful way to memorialize a pet — bringing together a lifetime of memories in one place, without the stress of searching for them.
